This is an informal sharing session designed specifically for international Research Fellows with less than five years of service at Academia Sinica.
As part of our commitment to supporting international academic staff, this gathering will feature a conversation with Distinguished Research Fellow from IBMS, Dr. Steve Roffler, an American PI who has lived in Taiwan for almost 40 years, who has found his own way to navigate the trials and tribulations of research, and continues to grow through new challenges.
Dr. Roffler will be sharing reflections and practical insights on topics such as:
🔷Building professional networks, and making your work and expertise visible
🔷Navigating administrative systems and institutional structures
🔷Balancing academic responsibilities with personal well-being and mental health
This will be a relaxed and interactive session, no PowerPoints, no formal talks, just meaningful conversation and space to connect with fellow colleagues.
